Hanuman's Leap to Lanka
After hearing Jambavan's motivational words, Hanuman began to increase his size. Soon, he became as large as a mountain. It seemed that in a few moments, he would cross the ocean and swallow the entire city of Lanka. All the monkeys were amazed to see how enormous he had become. The monkey army's anxiety melted away, replaced by rays of hope. Excitement surged through the ranks.
"Victory to Hanuman!" the monkeys chanted in unison.
"I will kill Ravan and uproot Trikut Mountain, where the city of Lanka stands," Hanuman proclaimed fervently. "Brave monkeys, rest assured, I will accomplish Lord Ram's task and return. After inquiring about Seeta, I will come back and stand before you. Wherever that wicked demon has hidden Seeta, I will find her. Oh, Jambavan, you are experienced and wise. Please advise me on what I must do."
"Brave Hanuman, just inquire about Seeta and return," said the bear king Jambavan in a calm, reassuring tone. "You must complete this task skillfully. Our blessings are with you. Remember that all our lives depend on your success. Just bring news of Seeta to us. With his strength and might, Lord Ram will defeat Ravan in battle and bring back Seeta."
Hanuman bowed to Jambavan with deep respect and sought his permission to leave. Jambavan blessed him and wished him success in his mission. With the assurance of the entire monkey army and Lord Ram's blessings, Hanuman climbed to the peak of Mahendra Mountain. He made himself enormous, and the earth began to sway as he roared. The mountain peak began to sink toward the ground, the ocean started to foam, and the mountain ranges began to rock. The mud sank in, and animals and birds fled in all directions, leaving their homes in a frantic rush. The ground nearly buckled under Hanuman's immense weight.
Without hesitation, Hanuman took a giant leap and departed for Lanka.
