The Tailless Fox
During an attack by hunters, a fox managed to save his life, but his tail was cut off, which caused him great shame. To hide his humiliation, he called a meeting of all the foxes.
"My friends, God has done me a great favor and cut my tail off. Now, I can lead a happy and carefree life. Our tails are ugly and a burden. What is surprising is why we haven't cut our tails off until now. Everyone, take my advice and cut off your tails," said he.
A cunning fox stood up and laughed.
"If my tail had been cut off," said he, "I would endorse your opinion. But my tail is fine, so why should I or the other foxes cut off our tails? Keep your selfish advice to yourself."
