Ram's Praise for Hanuman and the Resolve to Cross the Ocean

Ram praised Hanuman from the bottom of his heart.

"Hanuman has accomplished the hardest task in the world," Ram said to Sugreev. "No one can even imagine performing such a rare feat. No one except Garud, the Wind god, and Hanuman could have crossed the ocean. Hanuman entered the city of Lanka, which even the gods could not. With his strength and loyalty, he has demonstrated that the impossible is possible. Anyone who turns away from his duty is regarded as the worst creature in the world. Hanuman has hoisted his flag of bravery in the city of Lanka, which even the gods are afraid to enter.

"By finding Seeta, Hanuman has saved me, Lakshman, and our entire family from a crisis. He has brought happiness back into our lives. I have nothing to repay him for accomplishing this great task. Hanuman's favor to me cannot be compared to the price of any object in the world. I am eternally grateful to him."

After saying this, Ram hugged Hanuman. Then he thought about the vastness of the ocean and became apprehensive. He wondered how the monkey army would cross the ocean and reach Lanka. He began to drown in a sea of worries.

"Oh Lord, why are you so worried?" Sugreev asked Ram. "We have found Seeta and now know who our enemy is. You must not give in to fear and apprehension. The monkeys are ready to sacrifice their lives at one signal from you. Somehow or other, we will cross the ocean; if Hanuman could reach Lanka, so can we all. We will then defeat Ravan and rescue Seeta. A person who drowns in grief and depression cannot achieve anything; instead, he gets into deeper trouble.

"Our monkey commanders are brave and strong. They will show that the impossible is possible. We will build a bridge to cross the ocean and reach Lanka. As soon as we depart for Lanka, the evil Ravan is doomed. Even Indra, the king of the gods, cannot gain victory over Lanka without first building a bridge. Once the bridge is built, defeating the demons in Lanka will be child's play because our army has several great warriors.

"Lord, if you remain sad like this, we will lose self-confidence. A warrior who is distracted can never attain victory. Remind yourself of your courage and power so that we may accomplish the humongous task before us. A majestic man like you does not panic in the face of calamity, regardless of how disastrous it may seem. We need to confront our troubles with grit."
