Ram's Gratitude and Resolve
After saying this, Hanuman was moved. He joined his hands and requested Ram to free Seeta from the wicked Ravan's shadow as quickly as possible. Hanuman's deeds in Lanka greatly pleased Ram, who became emotional and said he had nothing to repay Hanuman with.
"Oh, Hanuman!" said Ram. "For this task of yours, I am indebted to you forever. In the coming eras, people will always remember your great task."
Ram hugged Hanuman several times, and teardrops started falling from Ram's eyes. Seeing God and Devotee embracing each other, all the monkeys there were inspired. Hanuman considered himself blessed for completing this task given by his Lord. After this, Ram stood under a tree and began thinking about Seeta. Based on Hanuman's words, the image of a helpless Seeta emerged in Ram's mind. She was sitting alone beneath a tree. Ram was astonished at how Seeta was staying alive, bearing the cold, heat, and harassment of frightening demonesses.
Many apprehensions arose in Ram's mind. On one side were the horrible demonesses and the lovely Seeta on the other. She was likely facing various forms of torture and insults. How would Seeta defend herself if a deadly demoness attacked her? These thoughts distracted Ram. He suddenly wished to fly to Seeta like a bird, but the reality was different. Seeta was helplessly enduring her time on the other side of the sea in Ravan's Lanka.
The next moment, Ram had a glimpse of reality. He thought about how to free Seeta from Ravan's captivity. He pondered how the monkey army could cross the gigantic ocean. What would happen if Ravan and his army were not defeated within a month? What would happen to Seeta a month from now? After contemplating these problems in depth, Ram remembered the brilliant actions of his ancestors. He began thinking about the monkey army's strength and gallantry and recalled the teachings of Maharshi Vishvamitra. He then started formulating a plan to defeat Ravan. Infused with self-confidence and hope, he stopped mourning and vowed to perform his duty. Slowly but surely, Ram's countenance began to bloom, just like lotuses in a lake bloom upon being touched by sunlight early in the morning.
