The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd went to the jungle to graze his sheep. One day, he decided to pull a prank on the villagers. "Save us! A wolf has come," he yelled, feigning an emergency. The villagers heard his call and came running but saw no wolf. The shepherd burst out laughing. This incident recurred several times, and the villagers no longer trusted his cries.

One day, a wolf really came to the village. The shepherd ran toward the villagers. "Save us! A wolf has really come," cried out the shepherd. He wasn't feigning this time. But the villagers thought the shepherd was trying to trick them again and laughed among themselves. When they heard the shepherd's repeated cries, some reluctantly decided to investigate. They saw that a real wolf had come and killed several of the sheep.
