The Naughty Monkey

Bodhisattva was once born as a sadhu. He used to go to the village every day and beg for alms. When he was away, a monkey would enter his cottage, consume all the food and drink, and scatter everything here and there. Once, when the monkey entered the house, it found no food. It went to the village to see the sadhu.

The villagers finished worshipping and were going to offer food to the sadhu. The monkey went up to the sadhu and stood with its hands joined. The villagers thought the monkey was deep in meditation and were pleased to see its devotion. But the sadhu recognized the monkey. He told the villagers that this monkey would enter his cottage, break all his things, and give him trouble. The angry villagers chased the monkey away.
