The Dog and the Rabbit

A dog and a rabbit were friends. The rabbit's behavior was plain and straightforward, but the dog was cunning. One day, the dog suddenly caught the rabbit and bit it hard. The rabbit was going to die of pain. Then, the dog started licking the rabbit's wounds and tried to comfort him. The rabbit was stunned by the dog's behavior and didn't know what to do. 

"First, tell me if you are my friend or enemy," he asked the dog. "If you are truly my friend, why did you bite me so hard? If you are my enemy, why are you licking my wounds? Either kill me or let me live my life as I please."

A dubious friend is worse than an enemy.
