The Lion, the Fox, and the Donkey

A lion, a fox, and a donkey set out to hunt. While roaming in the jungle, they found a reindeer. The trio followed the reindeer and killed him. 

They then decided to divide the dead reindeer among themselves. The donkey stepped forward and split the meat into three equal pieces. The lion got angry because he wanted the largest piece. He pounced on the donkey and killed him. 

The lion now asked the fox to divide the meat. The fox was clever; he collected all the flesh for the lion and set aside a tiny portion for himself. The lion was pleased. 

"Who taught you how to divide?" he asked the fox. 

"Emperor, the fate of this donkey did!" said the fox, laughing. 

It is good to learn from your own mistakes; it is better to learn from others' mistakes.
