The Monkey and the Crocodile

A monkey and a crocodile were friends. The crocodile's mother thought the monkey's heart would be delicious, so she told her son to get the monkey for her. 

"That island's fruits have ripened; I will take you there," said the crocodile to the monkey.

The monkey's mouth began to water; he jumped onto the crocodile's back and sat there during the journey in the water. 

"My mother wants to eat your heart, so I'm taking you to her," the crocodile said to the monkey on the way.

"But I left my heart on the tree back home," said the monkey. "If you want my heart, turn around and take me back to that tree." 

The crocodile took the monkey back to its home. The monkey jumped back into the tree and saved its life.
